PROJECT PORTFOLIO

15 Ashmont Road

This 1918 Colonial had been expanded in the early 2010's, but poor construction of the primary suite bathroom led to a rotting shower enclosure with leaks into the kitchen below and a cracking penny tile floor. A gut renovation of the shower, tub and floor, while leaving fixture locations unchanged, breathed new life into the space.

To ensure no future leaks, the shower was constructed with a Wedi waterproof enclosure and the floor was sealed 4" up the walls with waterproofing membranes. The main floor received a waterproof crack-isolation membrane - which assured no tile cracks in the future.

However, the best feature, as later confirmed by our client, was the electric floor heat. Although skeptical at first, she was convinced when the first winter approached and the bathroom became the coziest room in the house.
