PROJECT PORTFOLIO
1956 Re-Envisioned
This 1956 Split-Level with walkout basement was acquired by our clients in 2010, one of whom is an architect at an internationally-renowned design firm. The initial vision was to transform the 54-year old home from bland and boxy into a light-filled and airy reflection of their large family and love to entertain. The project was carried out in 2 phases over a period of 7 years, with a 4 year break between phases.
Before
The home was in original condition, unchanged from 1956: windows were single pane, bathroom fixtures lacked anti-scald valves, roof life expired. However, it sat on a beautiful lot in a highly desirable neighborhood.

Phase One
Phase 1 involved the removal and replacement of the main entry, new windows, standing seam metal roof and stucco/ cedar siding. On the interior, the kitchen was completely gutting, creating a vaulted ceiling. The basement was cleaned up and bathroom renovated. The result was 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.

After Completion
Phase 2 involved the removal of the chimney, 2-car garage and failing lower level atrium. In their place was constructed a new 2-car garage, master suite, office and museum-caliber lower level entertaining space with dual 12' x 12' sliding glass doors. Total conditioned space was 2,400 sf.

In addition to the addition, the main home received all new flooring on the first level. Additionally, extensive exterior work, including structural repairs to a failing deck, and new front trellis were constructed.
